What is a Ganjier?

Similar to the Sommelier’s role in the wine industry, the Ganjier is trained in the art, science and appreciation of cannabis craft, consumption, and connoisseurship, possessing a multidisciplinary knowledge and astute professionalism serving to raise the standard of excellence throughout the cannabis industry.

The Ganjier is educated in the history, science, genetics, cultivation, processing, and consumption of cannabis.

Additionally, the Ganjier is trained in the systematic assessment and grading of the quality of cannabis and cannabis products. Most critically, the Ganjier is a trusted and reliable guide for the cannabis consumer.

3-Step Journey to Certification

Step 1: Online Courses

Composed of 10 online video courses and 31 individual lessons, led by experts from the Ganjier Council and covering topics from cultivation to consumption methods, this is the first step in building a solid Ganjier foundation.  This “First Step” can also be taken individually as a stand-alone module, with the other two training and exam components completed at a later date of the student’s choosing through the “Complete My Journey” program.

Step 2: Live Traniing

Hands-on, in-person instruction from preeminent experts on the Ganjier Council, this immersive sommelier-style instruction in the art of cannabis assessment takes place at our stunning 243 acre wilderness campus in the storied Emerald Triangle of Northern California.

Step 3: In-Person Exams

In-Person Exams: The final step in the Certified Ganjier journey, students will be graded on their knowledge, service, and assessment acumen through written exams, in-person scenarios, and rigorous quality evaluation trials.
